Policies and Ethics
Al-iBDAA Academic Publishing, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all aspects of the publication process. Our ethical framework is guided by internationally recognized best practices, including the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
These guidelines apply to authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Originality and Integrity
- Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been published elsewhere.
- Authors must ensure that their work is free from plagiarism, fabrication, and data manipulation.
Authorship Criteria
- All listed authors must have made a significant intellectual contribution to the research.
- Contributors who do not meet authorship requirements should be acknowledged appropriately.
- The order of authors must be agreed upon by all contributors.
Transparency and Disclosure
- Authors must clearly state all funding sources and any potential conflicts of interest.
- Ethical approval (for studies involving humans or animals) must be obtained and stated in the manuscript.
- Data used in the study must be accurate, available upon request, and presented honestly.
Multiple Submissions
- Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Confidentiality
- Manuscripts sent for review are confidential documents and must not be shared or used for personal advantage.
Objectivity and Fairness
- Reviews should be unbiased, constructive, and focused on scientific merit.
- Personal criticism of authors is not acceptable.
Conflict of Interest
- Reviewers must decline assignments if they have any conflict of interest (financial, academic, or personal).
- Reviewers should only recommend citations when they are genuinely necessary to improve the manuscript, not to promote their own work.
Timeliness
- Reviewers should complete reviews by the agreed deadline or notify the editors if more time is required.
3. Responsibilities of Editors
Editorial Independence
- Editors make publication decisions based solely on the manuscript's academic quality, originality, and relevance.
- Decisions are not influenced by external pressures or conflicts of interest.
Fair Evaluation
- All manuscripts are evaluated fairly, regardless of the authors' nationality, gender, institution, or background.
Confidentiality
- Editors must protect the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
Handling Misconduct
- Editors must act promptly on potential ethical breaches, such as plagiarism, data falsification, authorship disputes, or duplicate publication, following COPE guidelines.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
Integrity of the Academic Record
- The publisher is committed to preserving the accuracy and reliability of the academic record.
- Corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or editorial notes will be published when necessary.
Support for Ethical Standards
- Al-Ibdaa ensures that editors and reviewers have the resources and guidance needed to uphold ethical publishing practices.
5. Misconduct and Ethical Violations
Ethical concerns (plagiarism, falsified data, improper authorship, unethical behavior in peer review, etc.) will be investigated thoroughly.
Actions may include:
- Rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction of a published article
- Notification of authors' institutions
- Suspension of authors or reviewers from future submissions
All cases will be handled following COPE procedures.
6. Declaration of Ethical Compliance
Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to confirm their adherence to these ethics guidelines as part of the submission and review process.
By participating in the publication process, all parties acknowledge their responsibility to uphold these standards.
7. Open-Access Policy
Al-iBDAA Academic Publishing is committed to advancing knowledge by ensuring unrestricted access to scholarly work. Our Open Access Policy reflects our dedication to making research freely available to scholars, readers, and the wider public without financial, or legal barriers.
