Editors Guidelines
The editorial board forms the core foundation of every journal. At Al-Ibdaa Academic Publishing, each journal is guided by a distinguished team of expert researchers with extensive experience in their academic specialties. Our editorial office collaborates closely with Editors throughout every stage of the publication cycle. To learn more about our evaluation steps, visit our Peer-Review Process Policy page, where we outline the complete review and editorial workflow.
The primary responsibility of an editor is to oversee the peer-review process of submitted manuscripts. Editors work directly with the editorial office to handle manuscripts within their fields of expertise, select qualified reviewers, and provide authors with clear and constructive assessment reports.
Before accepting any review assignment, editors must ensure they are able to provide an unbiased evaluation. If an editor identifies any conflict of interest with the authors, they should promptly notify the editorial office to request reassignment.
Choosing Reviewers
Editors at Al-Ibdaa Academic Publishing are responsible for selecting suitable reviewers to evaluate submitted manuscripts. You may choose reviewers from our database of qualified volunteers whose expertise aligns with the manuscript’s subject area. If you believe that the available reviewers are not fully equipped to assess the work, you are encouraged to invite external reviewers as needed.
Editors must also ensure that chosen reviewers have no competing interests with the authors or the research under review. A competing interest includes anything that could affect—or appear to affect—an impartial and unbiased evaluation. Reviewers should not be selected if they have personal or professional connections with the authors, or if they are currently involved in similar research.
Peer – Review Process
Journal editors at Al-Ibdaa Academic Publishing are entrusted with providing authors with clear, comprehensive, and impartial feedback on their manuscripts.
Editors oversee the entire review process for each submission and coordinate with reviewers to ensure that peer-review reports are both timely and meaningful. As an editor, you are expected to monitor the quality of reviewer comments and ensure that their evaluations address the key parameters required for a proper assessment of the manuscript.
Originality of the manuscript
Significance and contribution of the research
Presence of any ethical issues or concerns
Proper citation and acknowledgment of previous work
Al-Ibdaa Academic Publishing follows a double-blind peer-review process, where reviewers are not informed of the authors’ identities, and authors do not have access to the identities of the reviewers. Editors are responsible for ensuring that this standard is maintained and that no identifying information is disclosed to authors or to any other researchers at any stage of the review process.
Delivering a Final Decision
- Identification of any scientific inconsistencies
- Weaknesses or limitations in the methods used by the authors
- Relevance and significance of the research topic
- Grammar, language clarity, and writing quality
- Accuracy, clarity, and overall quality of figures and tables
- Constructive suggestions to help authors improve their manuscript
When submitting a final decision, the editor holds full responsibility for the verdict and must be prepared to address any questions or concerns raised by authors regarding the review process.
Editors also have the authority to reject a manuscript if they identify concerns about its originality, clarity, or overall relevance to the journal’s scope.
